the butterfly effect by David J. Nightingale- at http://www.chromasia.com/about.php |
Life is never about the destination. The destination changes as soon as we arrived; the end changes as soon as achieved. It is always about the journey. If there's a certitude to life apart from change, death and taxes, it is the journey.
We may have a complete hand in navigating where to go and which bend to take but we will never know what awaits us in every step that we make or at the road we take. And that what makes life interesting.
The road we may have chosen isn't to our liking, we can always turn back and take a different route. Or we could simply push forward and see what the crossroad ahead offers. When we stumble as we walk through either pavement or dirt road, we can always choose to stand up and continue or we could lie down awhile and nurse the sprain, stand up and take a step and move on. Or we could forfeit the journey, lie down and wait for death to take us in.
That's one way to go but not my way. I never want to miss out the gems I may pick along the way, or the meanings of friendship, of love, of pain, of joy, of loss, of being what it is to be human I can only find on the road.
At the end, I want to be this worn out shoe - well worn and well traveled along life's road.
